A great little bit of modern soul smooth, with slight jazzy touches, almost in the mode of some of the club-oriented work by Roy Ayers or Norman Connors from the same time. The album features the excellent mellow groove classic "You'll Never Know" was the most successful song by Hi-Gloss. The song was written and arranged by Phil Hurtt and Giuliano Salerni, who assembled a team of session musicians to produce some successful tracks. "You'll Never Know" was sung by the sumptuous solo voice of Bonita Taylor, with the future star Luther Vandross among the backup vocals. The song became very popular among club DJs and in the soul-friendly sections of the music press.
