Weird instrumental grooves from composer Sandro Brugnolini – played by a small combo that almost has a sound library feel! We know Brugnolini most from his soundtrack work, and this set's got a similar flair for odd sounds and weird rhythms – played here by a group that features organ, two guitars, bass, and drums – plus lots of unusual effects that make the whole thing sound strange and trippy! The music is a weird amalgam of funky jazz and soundtrack modes – familiar at points, but really offbeat at others – with a few key groovers mixed with mellower, more atmospheric numbers.

This album is legendary for many reasons; Tubby Hayes is playing on it, the Mike Sammes Singers are the vocalists and the arrangements are absolutely insane, moving from hard latin jazz, through occasional swings and odd psych. Most of the hymns are hard to recognise until the vocals kick in, so you can use the album as a musical guessing game. Marvellous and totally unique.

With Flute to Boot (aka Afro-Jazziac), also emphasises the colorful percussion employed in a varied ranges of rhythms, enhanced by Machito’s powerful brass section. All the material here was written and arranged by the featured flutist, Herbie Mann. Not only is his talent as a flutist always evident, but throughout, his keen awareness of authenticity also marks this album as a unique jazz accomplishment. Along the way, Johnny Griffin on tenor and Curtis Fuller on trombone are given enough room to grace almost every piece with emotionally strong improvisations.

Μια από τις μεγαλύτερες εγγλέζικες instro sextet που έχει να επιδείξει η μουσική. Σχηματισμένοι στις αρχες των sixties στο Kent και με μέλη τους  Major West (τενόρο), ΑΙ Holmes (βαρύτονο και φλάουτο), Borrie Corneron (ηλεκτρικό πιάνο και όργανο), John St. John (κιθάρα), Wes Hunter (μπάσο) και Tony Newman (τύμπανο). Στο βιογραφικό τους δεν θα παραληφθούν συνοδείες σε concerts με ονόματα οπως αυτά των Brenda Lee, Cilia Black, Gene Vincent όπου ο τελευταίος ξετρελαμένος  τους  προτείνει vα τov ακολουθήσουν. Η παραμονή μαζί του, για περίπου δύο χρόνια, τous  ανδρώνει μουσικά . Σημαντική η γνωριμία τους με τους Beatles το 1962 στο Αμβούργο με αποτέλεσμα την ηχογράφηση κάποιων κομμα­τιών των Beatles υπό τους  χτύπους των τύμπα­νων του Tony Newman κάνοντας τον Ringo Star να αναρωτιέται πότε τα είχε παίξει.

Παρά πολλες ειναι η διασκευές που συγκαταλέγονταιι μεταξύ των τραγουδιών,παιγμένα σ' ένα beat classic tempo. Αξιζει να αναφερθεί η διασκευή στο κομμάτι του Little Richard, "Ready Teddy” όπου και εμφανίζονται μαζί στην κλασσική πια rocker ταινια "Don't Knock The Wall" με ονόματα οπως αυτά των  The Animals, Jerry Lee Lewis κ.ά. Η αλήθεια είναι ότι δεν μπορεις να ξεχωρίσεις κάποιο από τα κομμάτια του δίσκου που κυκλοφόρησε τον Ιούνιο του 1964 κάτω οπό την ετικέτα της EMI Columbia. Σίγουρα έχουν κερδίσει επάξία, μια θέση  πλάι στα καλύτερα instrumental combos σαν αυτά των Booker Τ & The  ΜG’s και The Ventures.
